Since starting on my “fitness journey” this past 6 weeks, I have had a ton of people ask me about the protein shake I drink everyday for my post workout. Honestly, this whole fitness and health world is SO foreign to me, that I asked a few friends what they recommend and then ended up just going with what was in stock at Costco while I was there. Boy am I glad that I did, because it’s SO yummy!!
I used the Muscle Pharm protein powder in cookies and cream. Now when you hear this you might think that it’s like an Oreo flavor…nope! It’s like a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich. YUM! That’s definitely what I want after every workout.
Here’s how I make it:
- 1 cup frozen berries from Costco (raspberries, blueberries and blackberries)
- 1 cup water
- 1 scoop protein powder
I’ve found that I get the least clumps from the powder if I add it last, so I put everything into the blender in the order I listed them. Then mix them up for about 1 minute until smooth. It’s SO delicious!!
So the “recipe” can get played with for your taste. I know some people love to add veggies in theirs, but I love to actually eat my vegetables, so I don’t add any into my shake. Some people love bananas in it, but I’m not a fan of banana….so I opt out of those in my drinks too! Add different berries, put in some flax seed or chia seeds, or whatever else you might be needing extra in your diet. Might as well get those extras while drinking a delicious drink, right?!
