healthy baked apple crisp, perfect way to stay on your diet this Holiday season

I am so excited for the holidays. There’s just something about the smell, the emotional feel of baking, and more that get me giddy and all sentimental. This year we are trying to cut back on our sugar intake, where possible. It’s super hard to stay healthy when we have neighbors dropping off treats and all the awesome recipes from when we were younger than we want to make. So that’s why I decided to do variations to some of our recipes this year. One that I really love is apple crisp. I could maybe eat that everyday of my life; but then I would weigh a million pounds. So today I’m going to share my new version of a caramel crisp, that’s only a few ingredients and super easy to put together.

Healthy Baked Apple Crisp

Healthy Baked Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Sliced apples, with peel still on
nutmeg
ground cinnamon
granola

Instructions

Wash your apples. Slice your apples leaving the peel on for extra health benefits. Place them in the bottom of a baking dish (either individual or a larger dish) and place water in the bottom of the dish, enough to just barely cover the bottom. Sprinkle nutmeg & cinnamon over the top generously. Then top with granola.

Bake at 375 for 30-45 minutes

We all inhaled this dessert, and even better, it made my house smell AMAZING!! If you want a little extra, put a dollop of vanilla yogurt on top.

Along with being healthy with my food intake, I am learning other great things that help my body be it’s best. Did you see my Instagram photo yesterday? I recently got a squatty potty and it’s awesome how it has changed our bathroom time since. I really feel a difference of how my body and organs are.

Squatty Potty toilet stool is designed to help us “modern day folks” to get back to our original roots of squatting to relieve our self. It helps our bodies to mimic the position of squatting which puts the colon in better position to have a fast and easy elimination while still using our modern day toilets! No need to go squat behind a tree!!!
