The other day I decided that I needed something on the wall above my paper in my craft corner. When I got the new iron on vinyl from cricut, I was so excited to get started using it and knew just what I wanted to fill that space. A HUGE embroidery hoop.
So I got a a 23” quilters embroidery hoop and painted the outer ring yellow on the top of the hoop and the front. I didn’t bother with the inside or back because they will be hidden once the fabric is in place.
I used a large piece of canvas fabric to fill my hoop once it was dry. I didn’t cut it yet because I knew it would shift a little while I was attaching the embellishments.
Then, using the Cricut Craft Room, I cut some pink Iron On Vinyl from Cricut. I used the Go Canada font for the “Crafting” and the Keystone font for the rest! Download my file here. Make sure to cut the mirror image of your project or else it will all be backwards once you iron it on!
Once the item was cut out, I removed the excess vinyl revealing just the saying left on the transfer film. Then I ironed it onto the fabric following the instructions that came with my package. Then I removed the film to reveal my image attached to the fabric.
See, told ya it would shift. See those pulls and puckers at the top? All I had to do was tug a bit on the excess fabric and it tightened back up again.
Then I added some buttons, that I had left over from Baby Girl Barker’s button monogram(Tutorial), in coordinating colors with a contrasting thread.
I also attached the paper straw garland (tutorial) to the top corner of it. I then cut the excess fabric off the back.
I love the way it looks with the extra embellishments.
I also used my circle cork boards painted in pink and blue to accent the outer ring on the wall. The whole thing makes me so happy now, and the wall doesn’t look near as bare anymore.
