Using the MyConnectCare app when my daughter was sick

The thing about technology, in this day in age, is that it can be used for good or it can be used for bad. One of those good apps I’ve come to have a personal love for is the ‪#‎MyConnectCare‬ app provided by Intermountain Healthcare.

Last week we had the privilege of “visiting” with Dr Crawford for an in home appointment for my 4 year old. She had been fevering, sad and just not herself. And I was finally at the point where I knew that I couldn’t do it myself anymore. I needed answers. Enter the Connect Care app. Dr Crawford was amazing and not only did he make Gracie feel comfortable, but made sure to answer any and all questions that I had.

After going over symptoms and a few other questions he was fairly certain she had strep throat but wanted me to take her into a local clinic to get a strep test. The thing about this app that is awesome is it’s only $49 for your “visit” and they even accept some insurances. But because we got sent into a clinic, they did not charge me the $49 and within a day the hold was released from my card and the visit became free. It was a great consultation with the Dr to ease my mind and also give me the push I needed to take my poor sick little to the clinic. Thanks to that, we got some medicine for her intense case of strep.

I am so glad that I now have this app in my back pocket. The next time one of us is feeling under the weather, it will be great to not have to drag the whole clan to the doctor, especially if it’s during Summer time when we are all home. A quick piece of mind is just a video chat away and available 24/7!
What are some of your favorite POSITIVE apps for family, life or kids?
