I was provided with this calendar kit to use for this sponsored post. But as always, all opinions are 100% my own.
Each year for Christmas we try to give a photo calendar to my parents. Something with a collection of pictures including all the grandkids. A keepsake for them to have all year. But when I found out about the Recollections Calendar Kit that is sold exclusively at Miichaels (PS, it’s only 39.99 so it makes a great holiday gift), I knew that this would be perfect for this case.
The kit comes with an album, a 12 month blank calendar pages, stickers and designer inserts in 3×4 and 4×6 sizes. And they all come in the cutest little pink box, that is the perfect box for gifting it in!
The insert pages are so easy to use with the inserts. They are coordinated for each month and they have a front and back to each card. You can do journaling as the month goes on, but keep the front looking cute with the designs.
But that’s not the only way to use the inserts for this fun calendar. You can use your own photos, paper and other scrapbooking items to make it more personal. This would be fun to insert photos as you take them throughout the year.
There’s tabs on the pages so that you can easily flip thru for scheduling purposes, as well as to insert the photos into past months.
This calendar is perfect, because once the year is up you wont just throw it away. Instead just lose up the book and put it on the shelf with the other scrapbooks. I put our family name and the year on the outside of it. I plan to have a bunch of these in the next few years.
The only thing that was difficult with the kit was the pre-punched holes. They didn’t all line up with the binder rings. So I did end up having to punch new holes. But after they were all inside the binder, you could barely tell.
My calendar is now sitting above my blogging desk in my bedroom, just waiting for it to be January 2014. How in the world is that already so close?
I used to do a photo calendar for my parents as well! I think that it is an awesome idea for them to look back at the pics from the year… This calendar turned out super cute and now I would like one for myself! I love the tans on the page as well, would make it easy for sure! Sounds like I’ll be making a trip to micheals very soon ;)! Pinned for later so I can some ideas!
This is a super cute way to do it. I love mine and I’m sure grandparents will love it too!
This is so cute & I love that it’s customize-able!
I do a calendar each year as well, I love this one, the design is SO cute!
It’s such a fun idea for grandparents. having it customizable is so great.
I LOVE how easy this is – and your name cracks me up. “Semi” homemade! HAHA!
Of course, I am gonna take all the “homemade” credit I can get from it…unfortunately i didn’t do much which is great for the busy season.
Love these calendars!! Such a fun gift idea!
What a cute and fun idea! I love that after the year is over you can store it with your scrapbooks! Thanks for sharing!
That’s probably my favorite part of it too! It’ll be fun not only to see the pictures in a few years, but also see what our daily/weekly schedules were like
I really love this. I love how easy it is to customize. Plus I’m a crazy planner so anything list or calendar oriented makes me happy
I LOOOVE anything paper planner. I can’t get on board the whole digital thing. I just bought my 2014 planner for my purse and may have got a little giddy about it, and flip thru it often just to look & smile!
What a great idea! I love this so much more that the traditional calendar.
I’m dying at how cute this turned out Vanessa! I think I may have to go grab a kit tomorrow!
P.S. Sorry I never called you back the other day – as you could tell it was crazy here. Talk tomorrow? Playdate this week?
I love it, and have stocked up on them!
PS – definite play date this week!
I tried to find one of these in Michael’s the other day and couldn’t. I really like this idea and what you have done with it!
oh no, did you ask a worker? I’ve found them in the little display shelves that they have in the center of the mail aisle. Maybe try there?
I will try that. Thank you so much!!
