Did you know that it’s super easy to create your own scratch off card? And not only is it easy, but you probably have all the stuff you need in your closet already!!! So today I thought I would share a tutorial along with a darling printable for Valentine’s Day. I actually made this printable last year and just never shared it. So today’s the day!
Gracie absolutely loves it…well, cause it’s FROZEN!! But how cute is it, to let the kids try and create their own Olaf with the scratch off?!
DIY Scratch off card
Supplies:
- Dish Soap
- Acrylic paint (color of your choosing)
- White crayon
- Paint Brush
- Bowl for mixing
- Card to wait on (download the FROZEN Valentine card below)
The very first thing you need to do is get your card prepped. You can make your own on cardstock paper and create your own squares, or download the FROZEN Valentine printable card below.
Start your scratch off card by rubbing white crayon over the top of what you are going to paint over. Do a very generous amount of crayon over it as this is what will prevent the image below from being scratched off as well by creating a barrier between the paint and paper.
Now mix your dish soap and paint together in a 1 part soap:2 parts paint mixture. Once it’s mixed together, paint over each section carefully, making sure to stay in the lines and create a space between each one so the person scratching off knows where each part is. Paint ALL squares/sections and then let dry. Repeat the painting process multiple times until it’s no longer see thru and the sections are fully covered.
Let the paint fully dry before giving away your scratch off card!!!
