One of my biggest worries of Summer is that my kids aren’t going to be active and spend their time outdoors (like every little kid should!). Especially Gracie loves to just sit and watch Netflix all day. It’s constantly a fight to get her to just go outside and PLAY. So I came up with these Screen Time Charts that serve multiple purposes.
In order to earn screen time, they will need to do some chores. I’ve assigned different chores a certain amount of screen time. Cleaning baseboards gets them 20 minutes, unloading the dishwasher is 15, etc. Once they have earned their time, they go to the chart and put an X over the time. Then when they decide to redeem it, we erase their time used.
I have put their chores inside a jar, so they can draw out what they are going to do to earn their time. Obviously if there isn’t laundry to put away or clean dishes in the dishwasher, then they pick again.
I have made the chart in both blue and pink so the kids can both be happy with their charts. But I’ve also made charts with a spot for a name, so that your kids can then put their name on their own chart.
Make sure to laminate your chart (This laminator is my best friend….seriously!) so that you can cross off and erase your time whenever it is earned. Then once it is laminated, add some adhesive magnet strips to the back of it and put it on the fridge. It’s easily accessible and there to remind your kids when they need to earn more time.
The download set comes with the blue chart without name, with name, the pink chart without name, with name, and the sheet of chore ideas.

Great idea! My kids watch too much tv and don’t do enough chores! This would be great to implement!
Such a great idea! Maybe I need one to give me Pinterest surfing time! : )
This is such a smart idea!! Love it!
Thanks so much Lindsay. It’s been such an amazing tool for my kids.
