Sugar cookies in the shape of a hand for turkey treats

Today I have a great tutorial for you. Did you get a chance to see the almond sugar cookies I shared yesterday? Well today I am going to show you the perfect way to use that recipe for a fun afternoon, getting you ready for Thanksgiving. How to make turkey hand print cookies!

Too cute right?!

We started by tracing and cutting my kids’ and my hand prints onto a piece of paper. Cut them out right at the line

I put them on the rolled out cookie dough, and using a butter knife cut around each hand. You could also, if your kids are good at holding still, just put your clean hand on the dough and use the butter knife to cut around it. But I didn’t want to chance it and really liked the symmetry of cutting out the hand print from paper.

Cook according to the directions and then let them cool.

Now’s time to frost. If you are like me, you give your kids free reign and your cookies end up looking AWESOME!

or you can decorate them yourself to give as a gift to family. Wouldn’t this be so fun to give to grandparents?

Are you ready for Halloween to be over, and get into the Thanksgiving cooking? I seriously am so excited about it.
