Did you guys know that you can use your BBQ grill as an OVEN? This is seriously one of the greatest “hacks” I have ever learned because it has saved my house from heating up during the already HOT days of Summer. It’s so much easier than you could imagine and really helps keep your house cooler than if you were to heat your whole oven.
I have made so many different things in my BBQ oven before. Cookies, biscuits, meatloaf, pizza and more!! Today I’m gonna show you how I cooked this California Pizza Kitchen The Works frozen pizza on the grill. I picked this up at Walmart and have them stocked in my freezer. They are perfect for unexpected Summer gatherings or even a quick picnic lunch with friends in the yard!
Turn your oven on and preheat it to the temperature that it calls for on your box. This particular time I needed it at 400•. I heated the grill with 2 burners on medium and one on low. Once I approached 400• I lowered all burners to low and kept them there for the remainder of the time.
I cooked the pizza for 1-2 minutes under what the box called for. Just remember that you are using a pretty direct heat so you may need to shorten the cook time just a little.
Take the pizza our of the plastic and off of the cardboard bottom. Place the pizza directly on the grill for cooking.
When the time is up, remove the pizza from the grill, cut and serve warm!
Have you ever used your grill as an oven? If so I would LOVE to hear your favorite things to make on it.
