This last weekend, The Boxtrolls came out on DVD and Blu Ray. My kids were so excited when I surprised them with a family night in; we had dinner in front of the TV and then I pulled out the treats!
If you know me, you know that I have a huge obsession with Pop Secret Home-Style Popcorn. I’ve shared many recipes here on the blog that includes homestyle popcorn as an ingredient (lemon popcorn, Moose Tracks Popcorn, Green Mint Popcorn). So my kids get extra excited when I am willing to share it with them.
I had prepped some Valentine’s for the kids to fill out (write their name) while we watched the movie and ate some popcorn. They were in love with the Valentine’s after we got them done. Will has now decided that he’s gonna hand them out to all his neighborhood friends this year!
The boxes are simple to put together too. While watching the movie, start cutting out all the boxes (the most time consuming part) and let the kids write their names on the empty side of the box. Then everyone can fold the box up. You want to fold toward the back on every black line. You will fold the tabs and each square.
Once you have folded all the lines, it will just fall into place. Put a little glue on each of the white tabs to hold it together.
Have your kids seen The Boxtrolls yet? Which is their favorite character? Both of mine are obsessed with Fish!! Is it weird to say he’s cute?!
Head to Walmart now to grab The Boxtrolls and either Pop Secret 10ct Movie Theatre Butter Popcorn or Pop Secret 10ct Home-Style Popcorn and surprise your kids with a family night in (while supplies last)!
Check out these recipes that use Pop Secret Home-style Popcorn
I love the little boxes! My son just went and saw this on Saturday. A perfect movie for Valentine’s day!
These are so cute! I am always dying over how creative you are!
What a cute idea! We haven’t seen BoxTrolls yet but my boys have seen the ads for it and want to see it. Family movie nights are so fun! And who didn’t love PopSecret. Thanks for the movie night inspiration.
