We are 2 weeks into both kids’ first time at school. I thought that life would be easy breezy once they started. I mean, my house all to my self for a few hours each week…..what could get better? What I didn’t realize was that my life was about to get really busy! I posted this picture the other day on IG of my daily alarms. I’m constantly running kids to the bus, to school, pickup and more. Seriously, my life just got nuts! Last week I knew that I needed SOMETHING to keep little miss Gracie entertained during our run around, soccer practice and waiting for the bus to come. I know that so many people get upset over the use of technology for children these days, but I honestly love all the aspects that it brings. There’s so many shows, apps and games that are geared toward teaching children in a fun and interactive way. So when I heard that T-mobile 4g had tablets that came with FREE mobile data for life, it was the answers to my prayers. I ran over and grabbed us the Trio AXS tablet.
The only down side to our new fun tablet is that Gracie and I have fought over it on occasion! Last week we went to Will’s soccer practice and even I got bored. I bargained with Gracie that she could go play on the playground if I could use the tablet! I got my way! I started working on social media for the blog, a little Facebook browsing for myself, and then when she was done on the playground, we played a few learning games together. Have you heard of Monkey Preschool Lunchbox? That games is really fun for littles and keeps their brains working.
We also used the tablet at bus pickup. Luckily the bus stop is right by our house, so the tablet could still pick up on our home’s wifi, and we didn’t even have to use any of our 200MB monthly data. Gracie started watching her show and as each kid showed up to pick up their sibling, we soon had 4 kids crowded around all watching the show. It was great to not hear “is the bus here yet” because they were all totally entertained the whole time. Made “mom chat” at the bus stop better.
Yesterday William started all day kindergarten instead of his half day, so that has at least spread out my crazy busy life!! What do you do to help with the craziness? Oh, and what are your favorite apps for kids ages 3-5 years old on the Android market?
