One of my favorite things about Halloween is the “Boo-ing” tradition. Making plates of goodies and dropping them on friend’s or neighbor’s porches is so fun for the whole family. Being in a new house this year, I thought it would be fun to do some for the mom’s in the neighborhood. I picked a few random houses and dropped a little Happy Halloween or Happy Fall treat on their doorstep. I used FloraCraft’s Make It: Fun seasonal foam pumpkin, a few cookies inside, some chocolates, and my favorite wax melt scent.
Supplies:
- Fab Lab™ Styrofoam Diorama Pumpkin (can be found at JoAnn)
- Spray Paint
- Ribbon
- Crinkled Paper Filler
- Wax Melts
- Homemade Cookies
- Other Halloween/Fall goodies
To prep the pumpkins I used for the gift drop, I used some spray paint. I used two separate “techniques” to paint them. On the gold one, I painted up close and more on the heavy side. The spray paint will do a “melting” on the foam giving it a bunch of texture! The white pumpkin I sprayed from a distance with even and light strokes, and did about 2-3 coats. This gave it a more smooth finish without melting the foam.
I let the paint dry overnight before filling the pumpkins.
On the white one, I decided to add a little color with fun ribbons tied to the top. I used the same ribbons on the wax melts as well! I filled the pumpkin with crinkled paper filler, and then layered some chocolate treats, homemade cookies in a paper tray and the wax melts as well.
I added the same things to the gold pumpkin as well, but I didn’t put the ribbons on top.
Who wouldn’t love to open their door to these fun pumpkin porch drops sitting on their doorstep?!
What would you put in your fall or halloween porch drop?
