Unexpected Road Trip Essentials

Next weekend we are making a quick road trip up to my family’s house, and I’ve already started prepping for the trip. While I was gathering all the stuff for the car I realized that I haven’t shared my go to road trip items. So today I am sharing what I always pack each time we go a long distance in the car with our kids.

Perk vent wrap

PERK Vent Wrap air fresheners are a MUST on long car rides, especially if you have any intent on stopping for food. We always have to stop for food because heaven forbid my kids go 2 hours without a snack! But I HATE when the whole rest of the drive smells like french fries or chicken nuggets. DSC_0124 Using these “invisible” air fresheners (seriously, my husband couldn’t find it the first time we used it!) has been amazing in keeping me from smelling all the greasy foods. I keep them on stock in the glove box to pull out when needed. Each vent wrap, which is in it’s own individual package, will last for up to 15 days with the fragrance being the same at day one and day 15, and the scents are amazing (including favorites such as Golden Vanilla, Caribbean Colada and New Car.)! And the fragrance lasts whether the air is on or not, so you can climb into the car with it already smelling fresh!DSC_0125 Duel Cigarette Lighter Splitter Dual Cigarette lighter is a MUST if you are taking along and electronics that might loose power. We only have 1 outlet close to the kids, so having a splitter for things like the iPad, DVD players etc are a necessity for us! 61Mx1o3SfvL._SL1000_ I definitely wouldn’t be able to keep my sanity if it weren’t for our dual screen DVD players. Although I don’t let my kids watch TV or movies in the car while we are just running around town, I love how they can entertain the kids on the long distance rides. Route distance calculator Oh, and make sure to get some headphones to go along with it. There’s only so many time I can  kids art binder Art binders go everywhere with us; karate practice, soccer games, school pickup and more. I love that it has everything inside it, kept in a securely zipped pocket!!  We put twist up crayons in a pencil holder, page protectors to hold colored pages, coloring books, or any other small things the kids have laying around. There’s also a notebook inside for games, drawing or to write notes.

  1. I’ve never heard of thpse vent things but it sounds like just what I need to hid my secret fast food in the car eating sessions 😉 but really those things sounds magical

  2. I have some of these and they are amazing! My favorite thing that I like to take when we road trip is my kids pewee pillow pets. They are just like a big pillow pet but loads smaller so I am not transporting lots of stuff. But they work great when I use the velcro strap and put them around the kids seatbelts. Gives them a little pillow/head support when we travel at night.

  3. I visited their facebook page.
