“Scent”sational gift idea

 Labor day is coming up and I know that so many people are going to be going to BBQ parties. It’s one of the things that I love most about the holiday weekends is all of the fun cookouts and activities held outdoors. But have you ever thought that you should take a gift to the host…but not know what you should give them? Well I’ve got the perfect solution for you; the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® brand!! I just discovered the new fall scents at Walmart and I’m in love. Do you love to have your house smell like you’ve been baking all day? Do you love to have the red apple fragrance fill your kitchen? These candles can do that….and you’ll want to share them with all of your friends because with this new line at Walmart (found in the home and candle section), they are super affordable too! 

So for the party hostess gift, I created a fun tag that can be tied around the top of the candle and given to them as a huge thank you!!

The candle’s come in a few different sizes. For the one above (12 oz 2 wick candle) I just cut the tag as a square, punched a hole in it and tied it to the top of the candle with some fun ribbon. 

But I also grabbed a few other smaller candles (4 oz) and the top of the candle is the same size as the tag’s circle so I decided to cut out the circle and tape it to the plastic lid to the candle. 

I just used the clear lid to trace the circle, cut it out and then I used a double sided tape to adhere it to the top of the lid.

I also topped these candles with a few other things. One I just wrapped some ribbon around it, and another I used some double sided tape to put some pom pom ribbon around the sides of the lid. I love that it creates such a fun look and effect.

And as you can see, I also took this into my everyday life and made some tags for my kids’ teachers and also for my friends. Who couldn’t use a random “just because” gift from a friend?!

And I can always use a quick gift for the teacher. Whether for the first week of school, Christmas, Teacher appreciation, end of the year or JUST BECAUSE! you can always pull this out of the closet (I mean, come on, it’s only $5 for the smaller candles!!!) and send it with the child at the last minute!
