5 affordable ways to give your bathroom a facelift

Since moving into our current place (over a year ago) we have never done anything to our master bathroom. It’s had the same towels having since our old place, nothing on the walls, a few mis-matched accessories, and a whole lot of clutter and unorganized chaos.

So I went on a mission to make our master bath a place that was more calming, more welcoming, and more user friendly. Today I’m sharing all of the affordable tips that I used in my own master bathroom facelift!

1. Out with the old, in with the new!

there’s not many things better than new towels. I replaced our old ones with new, fluffy and color matching towels. This one made a huge difference for just $10 total, but we could replace other things like a new rug, toilet brush holder, and containers for your q-tips and cotton balls.

2. Organize, Organize, Organize

There’s so much that you can do for this. Like have you seen my drawers? I can’t be the only one who has bathroom drawers that look this way, right?

I got a few $2 packs (3 to a pack) of baskets that I put in my drawers to keep everything organized. It’s seriously been AMAZING to not have to search the whole drawer each time I want a bobbypin!

I also got a shower caddy for all of my everyday items. My makeup, brushes, blow dryer and straightener all go inside of it and under the cabinets. That way I can pull it out, use everything, and put it all back in the same place.

Another FABULOUS product that helped with organizing is the hanging basket that goes just inside the cabinet. I put all of the hair product that me and the kids use so that they don’t have to dig thru all of my stuff (and knock it out of the cabinet, not to put it back) every day.

3. A new scent

One of the best parts of walking into a room is the smell that fills the room….except usually a bathroom. Change that! The air care aisle always has tons of different types of scent options. I picked this Air Wick plugin that has seriously changed our bathroom. Having the fresh smell as soon as you walk in, makes it a welcoming place to shower and get ready each morning. And I definitely haven’t minded getting a small glimpse of fall from the spicy and delish baking smells!

4. PURGE

Girls, I KNOW that you love having the 14 different lotions hanging out in the bathroom, but I promise you that it’s not worth the clutter and chaos. Also, if it doesn’t belong in the bathroom, get it out! Don’t use it as a storage closet. Nothing worse than digging around when you need something and are have to get it from between the shaving cream, extra TP and the makeup stash

5. Make it pretty

Put up artwork. There’s nothing that says you have to have “bath” or “splish splash” hanging in your bathroom. Find a picture, canvas art or any other decor piece that incorporates your colors. Hang it up and let it make you happy when you walk in each day!
