New Year

start each day with a grateful heart

As many are out celebrating the end of 2013 and partying in the new year, I sit at home with my amazing family while wearing sweats and a high bun and absolutely no glam anywhere in site. There once was a time that I would be the best and spend hours getting myself ready for this one night. I looked forward to the {non-alcoholic} bubbly, the sparkle and of course the midnight kiss. This year I am sitting here content. I am not wishing I was out at a party, I don’t miss the midnight kiss butterflies, or the hours spent prepping to go out. I am pondering the past year and the amazing and SCARY changes it brought. Who knew that I would be where I am this year; not us! But this has been the best year of my life. I have spent it with my amazing little family, some great friends both old and new, and have grown so much closer to our extended families. The blessings that have come our way could be nothing short of a miracle. I have been so shocked with the trials and triumphs that god has placed before us and I wouldn’t have changed them for anything.

So tonight I am content. I am happy being me and the life I have. No regrets from 2013, and only looking forward to 2014. I’ll be sharing soon some of my “resolutions” as you all call them. I like to call them challenge phrases. Simple things to work towards, to make myself even better.

But first, I’ll be back tomorrow to share some of my favorite blog posts from 2013 – will your favorite make the list?

HAPPY 2014 FRIENDS!
