One of Sean’s favorite, and most requested, meals is lasagna. I love it too, but I am not a fan of making it. It seems so time consuming, and has like a MILLION steps. So I’m definitely a sucker for homemade meals with a shortcut. So I’ve come up with an amazing shortcut to make lasagna, Hamburger Helper Ultimates!
When I saw this at Walmart, I knew I had to try it as my “cheat” meal, and it worked perfectly. Especially combined with the great fresh meat that you can also find at Walmart.
Ingredients
Instructions
Boil lasagna noodles in salted water, according to the package (approx. 12 min.) Drain and dab dry when cooked.
In a large sauce pan, brown your ground beef. Strain excess grease, then add water, milk and sauce packet and bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often. Stir in the tomato sauce from the Hamburger Helper box.
Spread about 4 Tablespoons of meat sauce on the bottom of an oven safe dish.
One noodle at a time, spread meat sauce all the way across the noodle, sprinkle with cheese and then top with a pinch of basil.
Carefully roll the noodle up into spiral
Place all 6 rolled up noodles into the pan, and use the rest of the meat sauce on top then sprinkle the remaining cheese on the top as well. Top off with a bit more basil.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes
http://www.ourthriftyideas.com/2013/12/lasagna.htmlThese are super easy to make, and I love that they are homemade in just 45 minutes. And the kids absolutely love the spiral part of it. It’s great having a food that excites the kids, and the hubby loves when I make!
What a great idea! I am going to have to give them a try. My husband loves lasagne too.
oh Vanessa this looks SO good you totally have me drooling. I think I need this on next weeks menu
These look AMAZING! I’ve tried lasagna rolls before without having much success. I definitely want to to these out though.
