When I get a chance to craft with the kids, and for the kids, I am ecstatic. It is such a fun opportunity to watch the creative minds of a little one at work. Not only can they create a world full of dinosaurs and flying cats, but they can also make fun art projects with that mind of theirs.
I got a fun girls bead kit from Prima Bead, and was so excited to make them with the kids. The Little Man lit up when I told him what we were making. He ran over to Baby Girl Barker and told her “we get to make you a new pretty, aren’t you so happy”! Darling
We also used this as a learning opportunity with both kiddos. For Baby Girl Barker, I would ask her to find me a “blue square” and then show her how it could also be a triangle just by turning it to the side.
We started by picking a pattern of blue, white, and green beads for one side of the necklace. Then I taught The Little Man about following patterns by trying to match all of the shapes and colors in order from the other side. He loved seeing his work go into affect, and would get so happy when he got the pattern right.
Baby Girl Barker loved her necklace so much. She has been wearing it for days, and last night we had a full on tantrum when I wouldn’t let her sleep with it! At least I know she likes it.
The possibilities are endless with this bead kit. And we still have quite a few beads and elastic left, so next we are going to make a matching bracelet, and of course next necklace will be a pink and purple necklace!
Check out the fun bead kits, and individual beads you can get from Pima Bead. Also, follow them on facebook and twitter! They also have great inspiration and projects on their pinterest board. Because, of course, we all need more things to pin!!
