I’m so excited to start decorating for winter. This year’s winter scheme will be much like last years, so I can use a lot of the same décor. But I am adding in a bunch of White, Natural Textures Sparkle, and Trees!!
Last week I made this easy and whimsical tree.
I used a cupcake wrapper cut-out from Cricut. (get my layout document here, for use in the Cricut Craft Room) It is from the Cupcake Wrappers Cartridge. I HIGHLY recommend this one, as who couldn’t use a little extra way to dress up your cupcakes?!
I used the Cupcake Liners on a styrofoam cylinder. Just wrapped them around and used a pin to hold it in place on the back.
On some of the bottom layers, I did have to attach 2 different wrappers to make it around the styraphome cylindar.
Once I got to the top, instead of forming it into a point, I made a little spot to place a mini disco ball for the topper!
Once it was done, I took it outside for a little extra something – GLITTER BLAST (buy it here)! Because that stuff can totally make everything just a little better than it already was.
Once it was set atop my teal colored measuring cup (yes, the base is a measuring cup turned upside down!) it was placed on my shelf with it’s new tree friends (making their appearance on the blog later this week) and all of last years décor as well.
If you use one of my tutorials, I’d love to see. Send me a link or picture to Vanessa {at} OurThriftyIdeas.com
