{Guest Post} White House Black Shutters

Hi everyone! My name is Ann Marie, and I’m filling in for Vanessa today.

I have a quick project that combines two of my most favorite things in the world, and *bonus!* it only takes a few minutes to whip up. I love ombre, and I love glitter. But you can only do so much with glitter before you turn into an 11 year old girl.

To make a sophisticated glitter frame, and not show your inner child, it’s very simple. Take a blank, wooden frame. Pick out 3-4 paint colors that are similar in color, but vary from light to dark. Paint the top strip, and while wet, use the same paint brush in a shade a bit darker. Repeat with 1-2 more colors. Before it dries, sprinkle some clear glitter beads. The beads will soak up the color, and become ombre themselves! After it’s all dry, seal it all with a clear gloss sealant.

The ombre lends a nice beachy look, and the hint of glitter adds just a bit of sparkle.

What trends are you into lately?

Remember if you’d like to pin a project, please go to the original source and pin from there, to provide appropriate credit to the owner.

Ann Marie, thank you so much for stopping by today. I had no idea the glitter would “soak up the color”. I’m excited to try this technique!
Everyone make sure to head over and check out White House Black Shutters. I have been a long time fan and I know you will be too!
