{Guest Post} Mom’s Crafty Space

Hi everyone! My name is Heidi, and I blog about all things creative and crafty over at Mom’s Crafty Space. One of my favorite things to do is to recycle old objects that are headed for the trash into new treasures. My husband recently dug up a couple of pairs of my boys’ old rainboots, still stuck deep in the ground and filled with mud from last winter’s epic messy mud puddle stomping day. I literally shrieked as he was just about to toss them into the garbage bin, “Stop! I know just what I want to do with those!”

My five-year-old has been begging me to buy him a ceramic boot planter that he saw at the local garden store, so I grabbed a couple of cans of spray paint and some spray primer and set out to recreate the look (for free!).
All it took was one coat of primer, one coat of spray paint and a few transplanted plants from our overflowing garden box to create this adorable colorful rainboot planter display on our fence. The boots are simply hung by slipping one of the loops over a nail that I hammered into the fence post. Easy peasy!
If you like this idea, be sure to check out the rest of my ideas at Mom’s Crafty Space, and follow my Facebook and Pinterest pages for the most recent updates. Thanks for allowing me to join you over here today, Vanessa!

Wow Heidi, I’m loving these. Do you think my son will care if I steal his “firefighter rain boots” for these?!
Everyone make sure to head over to Mom’s Crafty Space to check out so much more that Heidi has to offer.
