{Tutorial} Glitter Frame

I have spent weeks prepping for Baby Girl Barker’s birthday party. It really is hard to decide what my “favorite” item was. But these frames are at the top of my list. I love how they turned out, and can’t wait to now put them up in her room!

I was so excited to use this fun Sugar Coating that I won at my blogger meetup at DooodleBug Designs. If you’d like some for yourself, find the closest store here.

I got the frames from Bennion Crafts, for just $2 (of course I used my coupon so it was only $1.20). I also used white spray paint, spray adhesive, and a clear spray paint coating. Also, my new favorite “secret weapon”, Frog Tape!

I started by sanding down the rough edges of the frame. Then sprayed the whole thing white. Once dry, I used the Frog Tape to make my stripes. Make sure to press it down firm to create a tight seal.

Then place it on some sort of paper to prevent everything getting covered in adhesive. Then spray a generous amount on the frame. Once it gets slightly tacky, transfer it to a plate or another piece of paper (so you don’t get the glitter stuck to the overspray).

DUMP the glitter onto the frame. **Don’t worry about using it all because you can pour the excess back into the bottle after.

Using your finger, spread the glitter around and press it into the adhesive.
I learned my lesson on my first frame….so pay attention.
**DO NOT REMOVE THE TAPE UNTIL AFTER YOU SPRAY A COAT OF CLEAR SEAL ONTO IT. This will keep the glitter in place and you will keep your crisp lines.
Once you’ve sprayed one coat, then remove the frog tape and spray another coat on top the whole thing.
TaDa!

Isn’t this one cute sitting on the food table at the party?
