Please tell me that I am not the only person out there who has a great idea for a project, starts it, and just doesn’t like how it is turning out. So then you place said item back into the closet, shed, storage unit etc and completely forget about it? My husband truely hates this because of how much of a “money waster” it is! Ok, ya I can see that I spent money on it, and now it’s just sitting there. But I HAD good intentions for it. That should count for something, right?
Well, with my new found “Play at Home Mommy” status, I have needed to cut back on my “hobby shopping” and so I have turned to said hiding places, and pulled out the unsatisfactory/unfinished/untouched project ideas that I had, and I’m determined to make them fun and happy again. I have to keep up my habit creativity somehow.
Well, a few weeks ago my husband was at the storage unit and while he was gone I suddenly remembered a big “FAIL” project I had once attempted, that was now hiding at the very bottom of a huge pile in storage. I quickly called my husband, who was already on his way home, and made him immediately turn around to go get it for me.
This old frame was so beat up from storage, plus I had mod podged lettering onto it. So I scrapped and sanded my little arms tired, then got ready to paint. Normally I would tape off before painting. But this time, I didn’t…
…you see, because the metal was there, once I was done painting I just went back with a damp paper towel and the extra paint just wiped right off the metal!
Then I used the incredible 3M Command Medium Picture Hanging Strips, 6/pk, that make renting so much more bearable, to hang it in my new craft area (more coming soon!)
I love that it holds EVERYTHING for me; my scraps, pens, scissors (could I get any more scissors? Serisouly!), stamps, tape, and my fun little sayings. And it takes up such a big space that it is a great statement as well as a cute decor item!

Love this idea, I’m planning to do this this week.
I love the blue! Thanks so much for sharing this too!
