Celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday!

This was our celebration for Dr Seuss’ birthday last year! I thought I’d re-post incase you need ideas for during the day or possibly dinner tonight?!
Tomorrow (March 2) is Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
With a little one at home, it gives me a great reason to celebrate!
Is it sad that I use my child as excuses like this?!
How are we going to celebrate?
Well of course, breakfast is going to be Green Eggs and Ham!
I found a fabulous way to make your eggs GREEN at ehow. Check it out!
My favorite part of Dr. Seuss is that it is so educational. No matter the age of your child (either 1 or 10) they can learn something from the books!
During the day, we will be reading Dr. Seuss books and coloring Dr. Seuss pictures.

I’ve also cut out fish from colored cardstock and backed them with black cardstock. We will be playing a memory game, matching the colors (since William is just starting to learn his colors)
And I cut out big, page size, fish and wrote numbers on them to help William learn his numbers.
And of course, no celebration would be complete without making your own “Cat in the Hat” hat! And of course, I found you a tutorial for that too!!
You can make your own hat out of papper at KCKPL
And if you have older kids at home, you can let them play Dr. Seuss games online by going to Seussville.com (here’s a direct link to the games)
If you are hesitant on making my version of Green Eggs and Ham, or want to extend your food celebrations, my great friend Jesseca, over at Sweet Treats by Jesseca, posted some alternatives she tried out for her little one’s Dr. Seuss themed b-day party.
Check out her Ham and Cheese pretzel bites
and
Check out her Ham Sliders
as well as her Green Deviled Eggs

YUM!!!

How are YOU going to celebrate?
