Traveling….AHHHHH

Tomorrow The Little Man and I are going to visit my MIL in Washington.

I am SO NERVOUS because Little Man has never been on a plane before, and he is the dictionary defenition of a busy body.
If you have ever met him, you know that he is GO GO GO GO GO GO GO, and on top of never stopping, he is very social. He loves to make new friends (as long as Mom is in tow) as well as make himself the center of attention.

I am not sure how this is going to translate into a 2 hour plane ride plus waiting time in the airport.
Oh, did I mention on the way home, we have a 2 hour layover plus over 3 hours in the air?!

I have been asking so many people their advice on tips for surviving these trips.
Some tips I have gotten are
  • Making sure to have the child sucking on something during take off to help their ears to pop. -Yup, I never sould have thought of that on my own!
  • Make sure to load their favorite movie onto a laptop or phone for the plane trip. -Toy Story 1, 2, &3 already loaded!!! CHECK
  • Make sure to take a stroller all the way to the gate so you can move easily thru the airport!
  • Get there early so you can be first on the plane! Then hope because you have a kid with you, that nobody picks the seats next to you!

What tips do YOU have?

I have a few I came up with on my own that I will hopefully be able to post about tonight (inbetween my 6 hours at work and packing that I haven’t even started yet!)

  1. When we were little my mom would pack bags of small toys that we had never seen for the airplane/airport- think Dollar Tree- playdough, coloring books, paint with water books (with a small cup of water from stewardess and q-tips)- that was always a hit! Good luck!

  2. Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about paint with water books. I am hitting up Dollar Tree for sure to look for some. William will die!!
