Airport STUCK

We were so on top of things this morning! We got to the airport with just over an hour before our flight (10:30am) and there was no line to check in or to go thru security!! My MIL and FIL even got passes to come thru security with me and help with luggage and The Little Man.
I was so excited for how smooth it went and glad I had the help.
Just before my flight, my in-laws said their goodbyes and headed out. Not 2 minutes later they announced there were mechanics on their way to check out the plane, and it would be maybe 15 more minutes. Well, after 45 min of sitting and waiting with a very anxious 19 month old, I heard my name announced over the intercom.
I headed to the counter where the guy was on the phone talking about ME….what had I done?
Apparently it was going to be at least 1 more hour until the plane was lifting off, and my connecting flight was the ONLY ONE they were concerned with. So I was being bumped off the flight. I could fly to denver and then back to SLC leaving in an hour {arrive at 7:45 pm}, fly to Pheonix and then to SLC leaving at 3 pm {arrive at 10pm,}, or I could fly direct to SLC leaving at 5:55 {arrive at 8pm}. Yup, I picked the direct flight.
But now, what to do in the airport for another kazillion hours?
We headed to the food court and got food, which I gracefully dropped twice while trying to find a table.
Hey, you try pushing a stroller, holding a purse, and pulling a carry-on while also carrying food and 2 drinks!

While eating food, I tried to call home to let Sean know our flight would be later than planned. Apparently making a phone call is NOT allowed without some mishap. Because William stood up on his chair and quickly went over backwards smushing his fingers inbetween the chair and the floor, and smacking his forehead as well.

A HUGE shout out and “Thank You” to the lady that was there to help him quicker than I realized what was happening.

After food, we headed to the kids play area!!! What a marvelous idea this little section is. Oh, except they have 2 entrances. I’m sure people got their kicks and giggles watching my 6.5 month prego self run to catch William as he ran down the terminal out of the play area {oh, about 15 times!}
After he wore himself out playing, I figured that he would be tired enough to sleep. So I filled his sippy cup with sprite (the only thing we had with us) and put him in his stroller to fall asleep as I pushed.

He had other plans!

Pull off the sippy cup lid, and dump the sprite all over hismself!!

Of course, why didn’t I predict that?!

So we quickly found a spot to sit that had a plug near by, and undressed the soaking wet child, and put on Toy Story!!!

Within 2 minutes, he was fast asleep and his clothes are hanging over the edge of a chair in the window trying to dry.

It is now 2:38 and our flight is at 5:55…..wish me luck!
