After reading the wonderful email from Monika, I was inspired. I am usually SO bad at conserving around the house. But today, I made an honest effort!
The following is what I did
1- William is obsessed with the Christmas Tree, so we have to have it on all day or he’ll freak out. So when he took a nap, and after he went to bed for the night, I unplugged it!!
2- I watched TV without the room lights on. This is such a pet peeve of mine, but something Sean and I argue over all the time. He loves being in the dark, and I hate it. But today I compromised and I let him turn the lights off.
3- When I made dinner, I used the oven. So for the 2 hours the oven was on, we turned the furnace off!!
4- All day, every day, Sean and I fight over the tempature of the house. I get cold so easily. But today, I turned the tempature down 3 degrees (brrr), put on 2 pairs of socks, a sweatshirt, and a blanket!
Ok, it isn’t much, but it is more than I normally do during the day. And because of Monika’s email, I will be making more of an effort everyday to save money!
