Edible Playdough

Well, today I spent over 4 hours in the doctors office with my poor little William.
We have not been able to get him to eat or drink anything for the last 2 days. He cries all the time; he wants to be held, then wants down, then wants to be held…etc. He wants that toy, he wants another, he wants one toy, he wants another…etc. It is a never ending cycle with every task.
I feel so bad for him. With the fact that he hasn’t eaten or drank anything for 48 hours everyone was worried.
The diagnosis, a swollen throat. On the verge of strep, but not there yet (didn’t know there was a verge!). My only instructions were to make sure he drank something. Make sure he got fluid and that was it.
Easier said than done!!

But after hours of trying everything, I got him to eat jello!

Ok, after that LONG introduction, the reason for the post!
Tomorrow Sean has to watch William while I am at work for a few hours, and with how ornery and emotional William has been, I figured I would plan an activity for them. Also, hopefully it will help Will to get some food (not healthy but oh well) while he’s playing.

Make and Takes

I found this recipe for Edible Playdough over at Make and Takes.
– 1 cup peanut butter

– 1/2 cup honey
– 2 cups powdered sugar

Mix ingredients in a bowl and you’re done! Store in an airtight container or plastic baggie with air sucked out of the bag. (Quick tip: Spray your 1/2 cup with oil before measuring your honey and the honey will pour much easier.)

I’ll let you know how the entertaining goes after I get home from work. Hopefully it all goes smooth!

  1. I sure hope your little one feels better soon. Edible playdough? I wish they had that when my kids were small. Mine tried eating the regular playdough!

  2. Ouch! Sore throats are so annoying…hope he gets feeling better soon! I agree, I didn’t know there was a verge with strep…either you have it or you don’t!
