Today’s Shopping

Today I did 3 shopping trips! One to Rite Aid (what a joke), One to Smith’s, and One to Target. All in all, quite a successful day of shopping!
First off, my horrible Rite Aid trip:
I knew it was a long shot for diapers being it is Tuesday and all, but I figured I would try it out anyway.
Lucky me, they still had 3 packs of Newborn size. So I bought 2, and will be exchanging them for a more appropriate size later!
I also wanted to do the Mac and Cheese deal since we are down to only 3 boxes in storage.
My transaction was:
(2) Huggies – $8.99 each (normally $12.49)
(4) Mac and Cheese – $1.79 each, B1G1 FREE sale
= $21.56
Used:
$5/$20 Rite Aid coupon here (get 20 credits to print)
(2) $.55/2 Mac and Cheese coupons from here (must play to win)
(2) $3 Huggies coupon here
(2) $1 Rite Aid Huggies coupon here (previously available in May)
=$7.46 OOP
Submit for $2 SCR making it $5.46 total!
This would have cost $32.14, which is a savings of 83%!
The horrible experience came into play as I was walking out to my car and I realized that I didn’t check the expiration date on the Mac and Cheese. I’ve learned to always check, because they usually last longer than a month on my shelf, so I want a long expiration date.
So when I got to my car, I checked the boxes. ALL of them had a “best by” date of May 23, 2010. Um, that was a WEEK AGO. So I went back into the store to tell the lady and to exchange it for different boxes and she accused me of going to my car and switching the ones I bought for old boxes I brought from home. REALLY?
So I took her back to the shelf with me, and out of their entire stock, only 5 were not expired. I took 4 of the 5. I told her they needed to take them all off the shelf before some other poor shopper came and bought old Mac and Cheese. She just rolled her eyes and walked off. BRAT!
At Smith’s I did two different transactions
((4) 24 packs of water not pictured)
The first, I did the strawberry and coolwhip deal that I just found out about. I’m sorry I didn’t know earlier to everyone could have gotten in on it.
Transaction #1-
(5) Strawberries – $2 each
(5) Cool whip – $.99 each (normally $2.19)
Yoplait Smoothie – $3.49 (because I’m addicted to these!)
=$18.44
Used:
$1.00 off CoolWhip when you buy Strawberries (peelie found on the strawberries)
$1.00 Yoplait Smoothie coupon here
$1.00 Yoplait Smoothie e-coupon here
= $11.44 + I got a $3 catalina at checkout for the strawberries/coolwhip deal!
This would have cost me $24.44, which is a savings of 53%
Transaction #2 is the Water deal I told you about here
(4) 24 packs of Nestle water bottles – $2.99 each (normally $3.99)
= $11.96
Used:
(2) $1/2 coupon from here
$3 Catalina from Transaction #1
= $6.96 + I got a $5 catalina at checkout for buying 4 packs!
This would have cost me $15.96, which is a savings of 56%
Total before sales and coupons would have been $40.40, so I had a total a 54% savings at Smith’s
Next I went to Target. There I also did two seperate transactions.
Transaction #1
(5) Yoplait Fiber One yogurt – $2.04 each
=$10.20
Used:
(5) $1 Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt coupons here (must have access to 3 computers to get this many coupons)
=$5.20 + I got a $5 GC at checkout! (purchase any 5 Fiber One products and get a $5 GC, good thru Saturday)
This would have cost me $10.20, that’s a savings of 49% BEFORE factoring the gift card!)
Transaction #2
(2) Shout wipe travel packs – $.97
(2) Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters – $2.99
(2) John Frida frizz ease – Found on the clearance shelf for $3.77 (normally $5.39)
Listerine Whitening Mouth Wash – $5.66 (normally $6.69)
= $21.12
Used:
(2) $1 Shout Target Web coupon here (no size restriction so you CAN use it on travel size)
$2 Listerine coupon here (must use zip code 01364 to get the $2 coupon, otherwise it is $1)
$1/2 Nut Clusters Target Web coupon here
(2) $1 Nut Clusters coupon here, or here
$3/2 John Frieda Target Web coupon here
(2) $2.50 John Frieda coupon here (you must do a personal profile to get coupon, but it is a bricks coupon, so print it twice!)
= $6.12, plus I used my $5 GC from Transaction #1 making it $1.12 OOP
This would have cost me 25.69, which is a 95% savings.
But, to make this deal even better, there is a $10 rebate for the Listerine Whitening mouthwash.
So all in all, I paid $6.32 OOP, but will end up MAKING $3.68!!!
Want to do the deals above? You can do exactly what I did because all the coupons are still available, and all the prices are valid thru Saturday.
If you can not find the John Frieda on clearance at your store, they have John Frieda on sale for $4.99 each this week. So your total after everything would be $2.44 more than mine. But you would still end up making $1.24 after the rebate!
What a great deal! Find out how to do the Listerine rebate here
