WinCo Grand Opening

Yesterday I decided to go check out the new WinCo up in Ogden! I now have mixed emotions on the place.
When I pulled into the parking lot, I knew I was going to start out on a bad note. I did find a decent parking spot, but had to follow someone to their car just to take their cart.
As you walk into the store, they had workers handing out an Aisle Directory so that you could “easily” find items. But there’s no way they can list everything, and when I couldn’t find an item so I asked a worker she replied with “look on your paper” and walked away. The employees that I encountered were NOT friendly. I was cut off, pushed out of the way, and even hit by a crate by their employees. And most of them seemed to have no idea what they were doing.
On the positive side, I was able to get some very good deals on some of my items. I got a 4 lb of strawberries for $2.98. Bananas for $.18 a lb, and after rebate I got 7 things of ice cream for $2.70! And I also couldn’t tell what items were sale priced, and what were everyday price. Their signs looked the same for both sale and regular priced items.
They DO take coupons, but my TWO cashiers both had no idea how to use them. So we had to wait for their one manager on duty to make her way to my lane so that I could use my coupons. Then after waiting all that time, I still had to bag my own groceries. I don’t know about you, but I thought with the 2 employees standing there doing nothing, they could have bagged them for me.
Oh, and they don’t take credit cards. Debit, cash, check, and government cards.

Well, those were my top concerns or likes from the store. It probably wont be somewhere that I go unless I hear of a really great deal. PLUS, Walmart is now price matching WinCo (as long as you have one within around 15 miles). So with more stores opening, you should be able to get the good sales at your local Walmart and not have to fight the crowdes.
