Teriyaki Rice Bowl
Put your leftover meat to good use with a delicious teriyaki rice bowl made with homemade teriyaki sauce.
- 2 cups Steamed Veggies Whatever you have on hand
- 2 cups Shredded Meat of Choice
- 4 cups Rice cooked
- sesame seeds optional
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
- 1 tbs rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp grandulated sugar
- 1 tsp olive oil
Make Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
Warm olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add garlic and ginger to saucepan and stir until fragrant (about 2 minutes)
Stir in remaining sauce ingredients (soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sugars) and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and let the sauce slightly thicken.
Assemble Rice Bowl
Put 1 cup of rice in a bowl
Put 1/2 cup of meat on top of the rice, and then 1/2 cup of veggies
Top the bowl off with 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce
If using sesame seeds, sprinkle a few on top of the rice bowl and serve.
