You guys, one of the greatest things I have ever done is prepping crockpot dump meals and having them on hand in the freezer for those busy days. I went through a whole bunch of them with our recent meals, and now that we are into baseball season I need to restock a bunch more. We have been at practice during dinner prep time, and I hate that my default solution has been fast food drive through. So after getting a bunch more prepped, I will be good for 18 more “busy” days where I don’t have time to prep dinner.

With these freezer dump meals, all I have to do is put them in the crockpot 4-6ish hours before dinner and nothing more! I love knowing that my family can eat a home cooked meal which is absolutely healthier but also SO much cheaper. I double my purchases so that I can make 2 of each of the 9 meal, giving myself 18 dump meals total.

I’ve also created a shopping list for you. I bought all of this, times 2 for just $90 at my local Winco, so just FIVE DOLLARS per meal! I definitely can’t take my whole family out to eat for that price…heck, I can’t even take myself out to eat for that price!

Plus, if you want all the recipes and shopping list printed, you can download it all here.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing! I was able to watch some of your live video and really enjoyed it! I can’t wait for more. I am excited to give this a try as I am starting to be working later on some nights and although I don’t have kids…I have a hungry husband who hates to cook 😉 I think maybe there is an error on your recipe for peach chicken….is it supposed to be breasts or thighs? Your chicken shopping list doesn’t jive with the recipes so I wasn’t sure if maybe that was a mistake? Thanks again!!

  2. Says 10lbs of chicken in shopping list but the recipes listed calls for more

  3. What size crock pot do you use and what size freezer bag?

  4. Sasha Woodward says

Do you have to thaw these recipes overnight before throwing them in the crockpot?

  5. do you drain the pineapple chunks or not?

  6. I have a couple questions for you, if you do not mind. I am new to baking and I just found your crockpot dump meals. When prepping my meals, do I need cook any of the meats? Can any of your dump meals recipes be altered by changing the meat (ie beef instead of pork)? These 18 dump meals, are these the only recipes you have? I am already addicted to cooking from scratch, so excited to learn more. Thanks, can’t wait never .org what you come up with next ?

  7. Judi Young says

Do you think these could also be prepared in a pressure cooker? (I.e. InstaPot)

  8. Monica Ingersoll says

Hi, I’m new to cooking with crockpots but I’m enjoying the couple of recipes that I’ve tried. I know you said your meals feed a family of four and go two days but do your meals allow seconds for each person? Also, what size of crockpot do you use?

  9. I wouldn’t recommend cooking the pork chops for more than a few hours. I did mine for six on low heat and they were totally dry and overdone. Either that or my crockpot has super powers of incineration. But I’d recommend either adding a half of a can of Coke with the rest of the ingredients to keep the meat moist and tender or cooking it on low for way less time. My experience was not good.

    • I am not sure why you would need a can of coke, as you should have plenty of liquid from the can of pineapple. Did you drain your liquid before cooking?

      • I didn’t drain the pineapple. The coke is for tenderization. It adds liquid, yes, but it tenderizes with the CO2 that is present in the Coke. This also works very well with roasts, loins, ribs and pretty much any meat you can name. It boils down to a matter of taste. I like my pork extremely tender and juicy. To each his own.

  10. How long will these last in the freezer?

  11. What do you typically do for side dishes with all of these?

    • We do all sorts of sides. One of my family’s favorite is white/brown rice. But we will also sometimes do a potato or macaroni salad, steamed veggies, baked potato, or a fruit salad.

  12. Megan Aguilera says

I just prepped this list! Fantastic job!
    One question though.
The list calls for 2lbs pork chops but the recipe lists 1lb. Was the shopping list an error or the recipe?

  13. Jackie Haefner says

New idea for me – I buy Crock Pot Liners, put them in my CrockPot, fill the bags (meat first), pour additional ingredients on Top. Then smoosh the air out, use a twist tie to hold it all together, then put it into a labeled Gallon ZipLock bag. Now, they only need to pull out the CrockPot liner of food, put it in their CrockPot, and cook it!!
Just one step to make life easier for those we are are gifting with these wonderful freezer meals. (I just saw the drain the pineapple comment, oh well, they will have a LOT OF JUICE!!!)
Thank you for sharing these recipes!! My husband and I make a lot of Freezer meals when our kids have babies!!!

  14. Any reason why I couldn’t use thighs in place of the breasts?

  15. Are these current recipes meant for quart size freezer bags or gallon size?

  16. Love this!! Any suggestions on oven ready freezer meals for dinner and breakfast instead of the crockpot?

  17. Angela Kotschwar says

I am sorry if I missed someone else asking this question, but the recipe for Honey Sesame Chicken has no “sesame” in the ingredients list. Did I miss something?

  18. Leigh Anne says

If I only want to use 1lb of meat for the recipes that call for 2lbs, do I need to adjust the other ingredients and/or cook time? Thanks!
