Tips to Spring-ify Your House

These are great tips for updating the house for spring. I never would have thought of #4.

I’m kind of excited that we are done with holidays for a while. I love decorating for them, don’t get me wrong. But I LOVE just using color to make a space happy, cheerful and beautiful. So today I’m join to share VERY minimal and inexpensive ways that you can make a huge imp ace on your house to make it all of those things.

These are great tips for updating the house for spring. I never would have thought of #4.
1- Smells – There’s nothing more off-putting than walking into a house or a room and having some weird odor hit you in the face. Maybe it’s from dinner, maybe it’s from smelly kids who have been playing outside all day. No matter what it is, you can quickly change that first impression by having a fabulous candle or plugin close to the front door or even one in every room!

There are currently some incredible spring scents available in the air care aisle at Walmart. This Caribbean Villa candle is like being at the beach. Who doesn’t want to feel like they are at the beach all day long?! They also have amazing fruity smells, floral and sweet ones!

2- Flowers- They can change the mood of a room just by adding them in a pot, pitcher or a simple vase. Whether you decide to bring in fresh ones, which always make the house smell amazing, or you want to purchase some awesome fake ones they are sure to create a very spring feel to the room.

Maybe try getting your favorite flower, the flowers from your wedding, or a sentimental floral arrangement. Not only will it look beautiful but it will have great meaning for you as well.

3- COLOR!! It’s amazing how switching out a few of the more neutral or dull colors from winter can completely brighten a room. I took this simple banner that I’ve had up since New Years and replaced it with a grapevine wreath and a rainbow colored banner (free printable below). The difference it made in my gallery wall is amazing.

Some of my favorite colors to use this time of year are: Yellow, Orange, Bright Blue, White, and Green

4- Dollar Items – I found this pot and flowers in the dollar section. Who can turn that down? It’s combining #2 and #3 suggestions into a $2 update!! There’s no need to spend a whole bunch of money for a simple update like this!

Some other great dollar items I’ve found are baskets, Plates/Saucers, Jars.

Make sure to download the Rainbow banner here. Then all you have to do is print, cut and glue the diamond in half around some bright colored twine or ribbon.
