Such fun ideas for a football party. I've got to do some of these next time.

PAR-TAY TIME!! Football Party that is! We are SO excited because our family’s favorite team just made it to The Big Game. We watch and party every year, but it’s so much more fun when your team is playing. So of course the inviting and party prep has begun. I can’t wait to share with you more fun football party ideas that I have come up with.

We had football player cookies (recipe below) made from Ritz. But we have a ton of little ones come to our parties, so we have the Ritz crackers out for the littles to eat as well. DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza that of course is a huge hit with people of all ages. And then these fun mini Coke cakes shaped like footballs (recipe below).

First off I made this fabric banner that I was planning on putting over the food table, but it is too short. So I think it will become a welcome banner across the front door for when all the guests arrive for the party and game.

How to create a fabric bunting in less than 10 minutes

Fabric Bunting

Supplies:

  • Fabric of choice
  • Coordinating ribbon
  • Fabric Shears
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine

I folded my fabric into the size I wanted the triangles. That way I could cut all of them at one time and they would be the same size. Once they were cut out I started sewing with a straight stitch. I placed the fabric onto the back of the ribbon with the front side facing down. Make sure to back stitch at the beginning. As soon as one triangle was sewn, I put another on without spacing them out. Of course you can give each of them the same amount of space if you’d like all the way across the ribbon. Once you have put your last triangle on, back stitch again to keep everything from coming un-sewn and you are all done.

These are my absolute favorite football party food that I have made to date. Not only are they delicious but they are so freakin cute!!!

Football Player Ritz Cookies:

  • 1 Sleeve Ritz Crackers
  • Peanut Butter
  • 1 Package White Chocolate Melts
  • Black Sugar Sheet
  • Candy Eyes
  • Black Food Pen
  • White Cookie Icing
  • Non-stick spray
  • Wax Paper

Put peanut butter in-between two Ritz crackers and set aside. Continue until you have as many cookies as you are wanting to make, but this recipe will make about 12 cookies. Then melt your white chocolate melts over a double broiler until completely smooth.

I traced one of the Ritz crackers onto a sheet of paper to get the size estimate for the helmet. Then created a deep half circle for the face area. Then I cut the paper out and traced it across the back film of the sugar sheets. Then using food scissors I cut each of the helmets out and got them all ready to put on the chocolate.

Submerge your cookie fully into the chocolate, then scoop it out with a fork. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl until excess chocolate has all dripped off. Transfer the cookie over to the wax paper that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

Once the cookie has been dipped place the black helmet, shiny side down, onto the top of the cookie. Then place two eye just below the helmet, leaving room for the face mask party.

Let all the cookies cool and dry until hardened. Then draw the mask in place across the bottom of the face area. Then create the stripes across the top of the helmet using your cookie icing. You are now all done!

Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.

Next I made the mini football cakes. It was my first time making this recipe but had heard amazing things about it. I was very pleased!!

Boxed Cake Mix and Coke make THE BEST red velvet cake. Create Football shaped mini cakes for your next Football party

Mini Football Coke Cakes:

  • 10 oz Coca-Cola (classic)
  • 1 boxed Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • Football Shaped Silicone Baking Sheet
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • White Cookie Icing
  • Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Combine the coca-cola and the cake mix in a large mixing bowl. Stir until smooth. Then preheat the oven to 400• and spray all the football shapes with non-stick cooking spray. Fill them about 1/2 full and then bake for 20-25 minutes (times will vary by oven and location). Remove from the oven and let cool on a cooling sheet. Then tip over your silicone mold and gently peel back the mold to release the cake.

Wash and dry the mold, spray again and repeat until you have used all your cake batter.

Once the cakes are cooled it’s time to frost. My favorite way to do it is putting the frosting into an microwave safe bowl that is big enough for the cake to fit inside. Then heat the frosting for 15-20 seconds until the frosting is more runny. Then dip the cake, top side first, into the frosting. Using a fork, pull the cake back out of the frosting and place on a cooling sheet to dry. If needed, make any touchups with a knife and a little extra frosting.

Once the chocolate frosting is dry to the touch, create the sticking with the white cookie icing.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
