I’ve had a few people email me and ask about how I’ve been doing my curly hair lately. There have been some posts and some Instagram video/pictures that people have wanted to know how I do it. So today I am happy that I get to share a new exciting product, Conair’s Curl Secret, that has changed my life (and appearance) as a busy mom.
I’m definitely a visual learner, and because this product is slightly intimidating I thought that I would share a tutorial 2 different ways today. A photo collage as well as a video.
1- Section your hair into 3 smaller sections (top, lower, middle). Pin the top 2 layers up out of the way. Pull out a 1 inch section and comb thru to remove all knots.
2- Start your hair where you’d like the curl to start. With the triangle side toward your head, place the hair inside and clamp down. The hair will draw inside and curl for the length chosen on the timer
3- Once the timer beeps, release and let the curl fall out. Do not touch it to preserve the curl until cool.
4- Continue all the way around the head, keeping the triangle side facing toward your head.
5- Repeat steps 2-4 on the middle and top layers in 1 inch sections.
6- Style and spray with finishing products

Ok, now more info about the product:
Some of the things that I absolutely loved about the product was how quickly I could do my hair. I can do it in 5 minutes from start to finish. It is also so easy to use, and there’s no bending or twisting of the wrist to achieve this look. Also, the barrel is inside so you aren’t going to burn yourself, making this product perfect for people of all ages. The curls last a long time. I usually can curl it in the morning, and still have curl left after sleeping on it the next day.
The product cost is $99 at Walmart, which is cheaper than if you bought it online. It is definitely an investment for a curling product, but I think it is worth every penny. I would buy it again if/when it dies. Another negative is that your hair can get tangled in the barrel, but it’s a quick and easy release and then sometimes you just need to do a quick “finagling” to get the hair loose. Main thing is to just remember to get all knots out BEFORE curling!
