This post is part of a paid campaign with American Crafts, but all opinions are my own.
OH-EM-GEEEEE you guys, I got a kit of the new 5th & Frolic line from Becky Higgins Project Life last week, and I am now totally and completely addicted. I had heard of Project Life a while ago, and was always interested in it. So when they wanted me to review the new line I knew that I couldn’t pass it up.
It’s the worlds easiest way to scrapbook, but still so freakin cute! I mean, check out the 2 page layout I did with Baby Girl Barker’s 2nd birthday pictures, and I did it in just an hour! There was no glue involved, and only used a paper cutter to cut one of the pictures…speaking of that picture; I love the one with all 3 of us. And being cut into 3 pieces to fit into the slots gives it such a fun feel. It was a fun way to bring in a big picture to the slots that are made for 4×6 and 3×4 sheets.
I DON’T like my handwriting….like you are lucky that I am letting you even see it on some of these pictures. So on the one picture, I used Picmonkey.com to type words on it before I even printed the picture. I love the look of it.
I will definitely be getting myself a typewriter so I can type onto both the pictures and the fun papers included in Project Life. I like that some have a space designated for writing, but some are just colored or patterned so they would be perfect for putting a little type onto.
I started another layout as well, but I haven’t finished it. I am going to share it with you though, cause it’s so darn cute, and I love the little details I put into it.
I still have a few more spots to fill (see the top center spots?). But the rest of it is dreamy, right? All about her birthday party. Baby Girl Barker already LOVES looking at it, mainly to giggle at the picture of Grandpa in her princess hat! But the details in this one were fun too. I used one of the cones from the snow cones and put it into one of the slots. I like that it sticks out a little and gives demention to the page.
And I used a part of the table decorations in one of the sections as well! It brings the princess theme from real life, down to the paper. I can’t wait to unpack and find the other items from the party that I want to put into the two remaining spots. The personal and unique touches it gives are almost as good as the cute papers that came with the kit!
I love how the kit comes. All organized in it’s box. I can’t wait to start doing at least 2 layouts each month, for a quick and easy documentation of our family life!
I highly recommend the new Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic core kit that just became available at Michaels. It features an array of light blues, pinks, greens, yellows and airy neutrals. The fun icons include birds, trees, foxes, houses, keys and clipboards. The edition has a distressed feel.
There’s also another new line out called The Vintage Travel Core Kit and it features deep blues, reds and browns, along with a variety of darker neutrals. The icons in this Edition include trains, airplanes and maps. I can’t wait to get my hands on it and do some father/son pages!!
Have you tried Project Life before?
Cute pages!! I wish I had a little girl so I could try out the 5th and Frolic line. It is too cute!

I love how cute that turned out for you! I used to scrapbook years ago and would love to get back into it, but the time is just gone. A kit like that would be fast and fun 🙂
I love how you cut the photo into sections, that is awesome!
Thanks so much Courtney, it’s been fun to find unique ways to do these projects!
This is so cute! Just pinned it to our Saturday Share- Project Life board. So much inspiration.
