Display the pictures taken with your phone

How cute is this. Use empty frames to hang your everyday pictures and artwork from your kids. Plus, print your Instagram pictures straight from your phone using the Walgreens Mobile App.
I kinda have an obsession with Instagram {The first step is admitting it, right?!}
I take pictures of my kiddos all the time. I love to capture the funny things that they do during the day and share with others. But mainly so their dad, who is at work all day, can know what went on while he was gone, plus he’ll know the funny things that they do and say.
So when I found out thru the #HappyHealthy campaign, that I could use the Walgreens App to print my photos straight from my phone, Facebook or even INSTAGRAM, I had to tell you guys. You can download the Walgreens app for IPad, Iphone or Android device. Once you have the app installed, it is SUPER easy to get your photos printed. I took screen-shots of the whole thing as I did it myself. Check out the collage below:

It’s so easy. You open the app, pick your avenue for photos and authorize. Then you select your images, size and location. Once you enter in your contact information, you will get a confirmation page.

I ordered myself a bunch of 4×4 Instagram pics and while I was in the store picking them up (PS, make sure to use your Balance Rewards Card. More points = More Rewards = Free Instagram prints?!), I got a few new frames too. I knew exactly what I wanted them for (see more of my in-store shopping photos here). I wanted a collage wall where we can display the kids’ artwork and also our everyday pictures that demonstrates both our personalities and our everyday memories.

I started with one of the fun frames that I purchased at Walgreens, and as soon as I saw how thick the side of the frame was, I knew that I wanted to dress it up with some washi tape.
I wrapped the washi tape all the way around, with 1/8 inch hanging over the front so it can be visible on the front for a pop of color.

Then using some OLD frames that I have had in storage forever, I primed and painted to bring them back to life. Then I added different ribbon and ric-rac just by stapling, with my staple gun, into the back of the frame. With fun clips and clothespins I put up my new Instagram prints and some of my kids’ artwork.

I’m excited to get more frames to make the collage even bigger because now every picture the kids color they say needs to go on the wall. Plus, they love being able to look at their pictures and say things like “Mom, remember when we went to that picnic? We could do that again.” I love watching them make memories as well as reliving the memories with me thru their pictures.

  5. What a fabulous idea! I must admit I have never heard of washi tape before, but I am so not a crafty person:)

  6. Thanks for reviewing this app!
    I actually have the app and didn’t know that I could print photos from it!

  7. What a precious display!!

  8. I was just on Walgreens seeing if they did Instagram and I didn’t find anything. Guess I need to get the app. What sizes do they offer? 🙂

    • Megan,
      I didn’t know either until I saw in the app. We use Walgreens for all our prints and now it’s so much more convenient on the phone! The only size they offer for Instagram photos right now is 4×4, but I think it’s a great size. Not too big yet not too small that you can’t see the details.
