Letters to Santa

Send a Letter at Macy's to benefit Make-A-Wish foundation

Today I went to brunch with some amazing bloggers and their kids, and we all wrote letters to Santa!

The kids had so much fun with the fact that they could ask for ANYTHING! But of course, all The Little Man says he wants is a monster truck…I’m pretty sure Santa can accomplish that! And he decided for Baby Girl Barker that she wants a toy monkey. She wasn’t too keen on that and decided she just wants more baby dolls!

But the best part of the day was that we were sending them to the North Pole via the magical mailbox at Macy’s.

At every Macy’s across the country, there is a letterbox to collect letters for Santa Claus. Bring your stamped letter to Macy’s, addressed to Santa at the North Pole, and drop it into Santa’s special letterbox. We will count them up, and for each letter received, we’ll donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1,000,000. We’ll deliver them to the Post office, and together, we’ll collect a million reasons to Believe.

The kids thought that it was so much fun to see Santa’s very own mailbox, and the magic that it held. Making sure that the letters got to Santa, from each and every little kid. And we even explained to them that by mailing it there, they benefitted a child who needed a little extra this holiday season.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy…Based in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes. It has granted more than 225,000 wishes since it’s inception in 1980; nearly 14,000 in 2011 alone.

You can find all the information about Macy’s work with Make-A-Wish this holiday season by visiting their site here. The site also has some awesome letter templates, a count of how many letters have been received, and a lot more information about other fun events.
Speaking of Events, Santa Claus is going to be in West Valley City tomorrow, November 9, 2012, and you can go visit him while dropping off your wish list letters. If you are not a SLC local, do not worry, there’s many more stops this famous guy will be making! You can see the list of his stops on the Santa Tour Schedule.

While we were at Macy’s, we decided that we would make our wish lists just a bit longer!!

Hey, what can I say…Mom doesn’t get out too often, and boy does Macy’s make my mouth water, palms sweat, and heart race a little more than usual… Did you notice those boots and fantastic sweater? They are now on my wish list that is for sure!

And the kids loved the little ducks from the “Quack for a Cause”. Baby Girl Barker cried when we made her put it back.

Have you sent your letters to Santa yet? If not, head over to Macy’s and help out an amazing cause while you are at it.

What is on YOUR wish list this Christmas? Make sure to add it to your wish list after telling me in the comments!!
