Halloween Charms with Mod Podge

Did you see my fun haul I got from Plaid with a bunch of Mod Podge products? One of the items I was most excited to use was the Podgeable Shapes. As soon as I saw them, the ideas started to flow. But I knew that I had to make something fun for this Halloween. I started it out to make a necklace for Baby Girl Barker, but somehow I made a lot more than expected (I guess I kinda got carried away!) But I’m glad that I did. Because after making them, I realized they would make awesome ornaments as well.

Supplies:

  • Halloween Vinyl Images
  • Podgeable Shapes by Mod Podge
  • Glitter Mod Podge
  • Paint Brush
  • Ribbon

I started by cutting out the shapes I wanted in black vinyl. I cut mine according to the sizes ranging from .75x.75’-1.5×2.5’ (find the sizes of each size on the back of the podgeable shapes packaging) Then placed them onto the shape

Once all the images were on, I used the fun glitter Mod Podge to seal it as well as give it a fun effect.

The best part of this project, the Mod Podge didn’t take much time to dry. So although I did a whole bunch of shapes, it wasn’t long before I got to play around and hang them up with the little strips of ribbon!

Last year I got a fun lack cardboard tree, but never had anywhere to put it, or a way to decorate it. But these ended up perfect to add a little spice along with a Halloween themed banner!

Oh, and the over large bird on top…he’s just the new “pet” for a month or so!
