{Tutorial} Mini Fall Stacker

HELLO!!

It’s so nice to be back to blogging. After a whirlwind of a week, I feel like we are finally settling back into regular life, and that things can get back to normal.

For those that missed it, we had an unexpected death in the family last Tuesday, which kinda thru everything off. We were supposed to have The Little Man’s birthday party on Saturday (his actual birthday) but had to cancel due to the funeral. We then had the long holiday weekend, and many family members wanting to help make the birthday extra special, so it was stretched into yesterday…4 whole days of fun. He now thinks that everyday is his birthday! The first thing out of his mouth every morning is “It’s my birthday…where’s my present?”! haha

Mini Fall Stacker

But now that we are back to reality, I’ve got a fun tutorial for you today. I’ve been asked to share some fun project challenges with you once a week for the next few weeks. So I’ll be participating with a few other bloggers to feature our different take on the same crafts! You can find the supplies given to me at FabDecor for just $4.50. You can have it shipped to you and decorated in no time!

I started with 3 2×2 pieces of wood (5,6,7 inches long). Painted them each a fun fall color called Black Cherry. You can barely see peeks of it in the finished project, but still the painting just adds that little extra something! So I wouldn’t suggest skipping it.

Then I traces each piece of wood onto coordinating paper, and cute just inside the line so it would lay flat on the wood.

tapepaper on

Once cut out, I put a heavy duty adhesive on each end of the paper to adhere it to the block of wood.

apply vinyl

Once the paper was on, I used my handy dandy drivers license (credit card works great too!) to apply the vinyl words to the front of the blocks.

bows

Once I had all 3 blocks assembled, I stacked them on top of once another, and wrapped it with a 1 inch brown ribbon, and tied it at the top into a double knot. Then with some orange tulle, I tucked in under the knot, and tied a fun and fluffy bow for a topper!

I love how it turned out and looks so cute with my fall décor! And with the little chill in the air at night lately, it’s kinda making me want to make a yummy soup and bread bowls for dinner…..hmm, maybe I will.

Ok, back to the post! Like I said, you can buy the wood and vinyl kit from Fab Décor, or if you’d prefer, you can purchase a finished kit from their website as well.
Also, head over to win one of your own on the Fablifyit blog and you’ll also find links to the other bloggers take on this same project!

  5. Tough week- for sure. Just to clarify, that is a vinyl print? Or iron on transfer? Do you recommend anything to go directly on wood? I have a project sitting unfinished because I have not figured something out…
