{Guest Post} Keeping It Simple

I interrupt your regularly scheduled guest post to shed a tear for my friend….Ok, now that I’m still not over the fact that Kaysi went from living minutes from me, to hundreds of miles and the middle of nowhere. I guess I’ll turn the time over to her!!

Hi everyone!!  My name is Kaysi and I blog over at Keeping it Simple.

I just adore Vanessa and her blog.  She is amazing!!

I love everything crafty, but I especially love easy and simple crafts that I can get done in the afternoon while my kids have “quiet time”.

One of my favorite things to do is to take something plain and turn it into something fun and new and exciting!!  I love refashions, because it turned my old clothes into new clothes 🙂

I got this shirt for only $1 at Walmart.   I got it in the little girls department, it’s a size XXL.  It’s a little tight in the chest, so I decided to turn it into a fun cardigan.

The first thing I did was cut the shirt right down the middle.

Then I cut off the sleeves.

I hemmed both the front and the sleeves.

I could have left it like that, but I like to have it a little bit more exciting and fun Smile

Using some paper flowers that I cut out, I took the extra fabric from the sleeves and cut out some flowers.

I cut out several sizes and then some in white (I had another sleeve leftover from a shirt).

I sewed the flowers onto the shirt.  I just did a circle in the middle of each flower.

I did that for all of the flowers.

And that’s it!!  Super easy and simple!

And it’s perfect to put over a cute tank top or a dress!

Everyone needs to go check out all the refashions over at Kaysi’s blog. Shirts into a skirt, shirts into ruffles..this girl can do it all. She has inspired me to try some refashions of my own.
