{Recipe} Reese’s Peanut Butter Rice Crispies treats

Have you caught on that I love peanut butter? I really do. Oh, and Reeses. If you want to get on my good side, bring me a PB cup and DP, and I’ll love you forever! Anyway, back to what this whole post is about! At Baby Girl Barker’s birthday party I wanted to make some sort of “pop”. I didn’t want to jump into the cake pop trend, because I was already having cake based treats, so I figured I would do something fun and YUMMY and a little different with the typical Rice Crispies treats.

1st Birthday Party Treats

Recipe adapted from here

3 Tblspn Butter
4 Cups mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Crispies
1/2 bag Reeses Peanut Butter Chips

Line your pan with plastic wrap, then spray it with non-stick cooking spray. Trust me, it will make your life easier.

Melt butter in a large pot. On low heat, stir in marshmallows until they are completely melted. Then pour in Rice Crispies in and stir until approxomately half mixed. Then pour in Reeses chips and finish mixing. The reason for this, is because the chips will not fully melt, leaving yourself a yummy chunk of Peanut Butter goodness every once in a while.

Pour the mix into your prepped pan, and then wet your hands in cold water (yet again, you’ll thank me!). This will make it so you can press the treats into your pan without it sticking to you.

Once the treats are cool, tip your pan upside down, and peel back the plastic wrap. Ta-da!

You are ready to cut. You can now use a cookie cutter, knife, or whatever to get your shape. I just cut it with a knife into rectangles.

Dip your sucker stick in melted chocolate, and then press into the treat.

Give it about a minute to dry, and then you can lift by the stick and it should stick!!

Follow by dipping the treat slightly into the same melted chocolate, and sprinkle with a fun decorations! Set it on wax paper to dry, and you are done.

We are still eating these, so just keep them in an air tight container and they will last about a week!
