(PS – I’m attempting my first try at cake pops today for Superbowl Sunday. I’ll do a post on how they turn out once they are done!!)

My oh my, it has been a crazy week

My poor little one just can not catch a break. If he isn’t dealing with one thing, it’s another. This week we finally decided that his “diaper rash” was getting way too bad and it was time to get a doctor’s opinion.
After spending hours in the office, we came to the conclusion that it is not even a rash. She kept calling it an “open wound”.
OUCH
The diagnosis:
An alergic reaction 🙁
So we are going thru the list of figuring out what he’s alergic to
Diapers – NO
Wipes – NO
Faberic softener/laundry detergent – NO
So now we are on to a diet of limited foods and slowly giving him more to see if he has another reaction. I swear there has to be an easier way to go about this.
Poor kid, he still isn’t back to normal. He wont sit down; so all meals, and baths have to be done standing and he only sleeps on his belly. If he accidently rolls to his back in the middle of the night, we all wake to a blood curdling SCREEEEEEEEAM.
Another advice that the doc gave, was to have him go without a diaper during the day. It would help his wounds air out, and hopefully dry up so they would stop bleeding.
Well apparently he doesn’t like being completely naked, because his new obsession is wearing shoes!!
But not just a one pair – Two different ones!
(Ignore the bad quality, these were taken with my phone)
I made him put a diaper on for the picture!
Showing off his shoes! He is so funny to watch walk. The sandle has a thin sole that squeakes, and the snow boot has a really thick sole.
He wobbles and squeaks everywhere he goes!
The good news!
William was feeling well enough today to sit down in his car seat! Which meant we were able to run errands!! So we spent this morning at DI (of course)
Check out the amazing stuff I got
And it cost me a grand total of $5!
I got a cookie jar I am going to repaint and put vinyl on – $1
a square glass I couldn’t pass up – $.50
A crystal bowl I’m going to put a bottom on and turn into a parfait bowl – $1
and 3 belts for my Lone Star wall hanging I told you about here – $2.50 total
Wahoo!! I can’t wait to get started. But it wont happen right now, cause I can hear the little one playing in his room. Must mean nap time was a short one today!

  1. Poor little guy. My oldest daughter had what the Dr. called yeast rashes when she was a toddler. It was horrible. He gave her a medicated diaper cream. Now with my youngest little girl we have not had any big problems with rashes. Any sign of redness and she gets Desitin Max and cornstarch. The cornstarch really helps as a moisture block and is WAY cheaper then baby powder and doesn’t contain talc. Hope he gets feeling better.

  2. Oh your poor little man! I sure hope that clears up soon. It must be terribly painful.

I must admit the shoe photos and descriptions are too cute. Had me chuckling out loud.
